It is a plant solution with low energy consumption for solvent recovery units, which, while keeping the adsorption technology unchanged, has revolutionized the regeneration of activated carbons. Our innovative HRT technologyTM Hybrid Recovery Technique combines the advantages of the various existing technologies, allowing significant energy savings of about 32% compared to plants with standard technologies.
A standard technology for the design of solvent recovery plants with inert gas regeneration, hitherto efficient and now obsolete, has been in use for some time. This technology has not evolved since the 90s, consuming enormous amounts of energy (electrical and thermal) to recover the solvent adsorbed in activated carbon. In these years of rising energy and raw materials, EPC has sought and found a solution to the problem of operating costs.
Compared to plants with standard technology, HRT technologyTM provides for the supply of more equipment and machinery (finned batteries and adsorbers) than currently available technologies, in an easily maintainable skid solution. In the face of an initial investment aligned with the supply of plants with standard technology, there are immediate benefits from the first start-up in terms of operating costs of the unit.
The reduced specific consumption guaranteed by HRT innovationTM they make it possible to expand, in an equally important way, the return on investment. HRT technologyTM allows savings on energy consumption and operating costs of more than 32% compared to plants with standard technology. This allows an optimized recovery of the initial investment in about 3 years, based on the operation of the plant.
The recovery units supplied by EPC can be designed and built either as standard systems with large horizontal adsorbers, or entirely on SKID with vertical adsorbers mounted on metal carpentry, depending on the customer's needs. The advantage of building the plants on SKID is a significant reduction in the delivery time of the plant, about 3 months earlier than standard plants.
Although the main disadvantage of SKID systems with vertical adsorbers is the high height of the activated carbon beds, thanks to HRT™ technology it is possible to size regeneration equipment to accelerate and optimize carbon regeneration, reducing the maximum amount of activated carbon present in each individual adsorber. So this disadvantage is eliminated with our plant solutions, thanks to the advantages offered with HRT™ regeneration.
HRT™ technology is designed for companies that want to maximize the efficiency of their production performance, reducing operating costs and complying with the most stringent environmental regulations. Its application is perfect for companies committed to environmental sustainability and the adoption of circular economy principles, since optimized solvent recovery reduces waste and improves resource efficiency. In addition, the reduction of energy consumption and CO emissions2 allows companies to reduce their environmental impact, contributing to the construction of more eco-friendly plants.
EPC has long invested in research and development, developing a technology that can overcome the limitations of traditional solutions. Continuous innovation and the search for ever more efficient solutions allow us to offer cutting-edge systems, customized for the specific needs of each customer, while promoting the adoption of sustainable and responsible practices.
