It was necessary to treat solvent mixtures containing up to 30% dissolved salts and/or heavy liquids, effectively separating the heavy components from the solvents without degrading the product. The process had to handle variable mixtures, operate in both batch and continuous modes, and ensure stability, safety, and high yield.
The plant combines a batch distillation column C-101 with a thin-film evaporator EV-001. Mixtures containing heavy components are concentrated in the evaporator, while the column separates the solvents from the overheads and bottom heavies. The system operates under vacuum (0.3–0.6 bar) with automatic control of temperature, pressure, and level, preserving heat-sensitive solvents. The distillate is collected and sent to storage, while the heavy residues are discharged or recycled in the evaporator, optimizing the final distillation yield and reducing energy consumption.
