Solvents Recovery Unit, with HRTTM Hybrid Recovery Technique.

SLA flow rate: 100.000 m3/h @ 35°C

Solvent flow rate: 520 kg/h

Solvent: ETAC, ETOH, NPOH, Metoxyprop

Problem

The existing solvent recovery system was not properly sized for the actual flow rates and concentrations, with a regeneration section that did not allow complete reactivation of the activated carbon, resulting in solvent losses. In addition, the heat exchangers and refrigeration unit were unable to achieve the required condensation temperatures, leading to higher energy consumption, increased operating costs, and non-compliance with the 2024 BAT requirements.

Solution

A revamping of the regeneration circuit was implemented using our HRTTM technology, with the installation of a new regeneration SKID equipped with a dedicated propane (R290) refrigeration unit designed for a condensation temperature of −25°C. With the new regeneration system, the plant is able to treat up to 520 kg/h of solvent, improving recovery efficiency (+25%), while reducing emissions and operating costs, and ensuring high efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
